KORG's legendary Wavestation introduced the world to Wave Sequencing, transforming raw samples into Sounds that no-one had ever heard before. Organic, inspirational, and mind-blowingly powerful. Legendary synthesis, radically re-imagined. I still have my original Wavestation EX from 1991 and this is a worthy update and one I expect to use for years to come! View full Review

If I were to ask for more, it would be a simple way to bring in samples from other formats besides it's own custom multisample format, a few cross-modulation options for the samples, and a faster LFO (40Hz is fine for an LFO, but I like running into audio territory at times - the Opsix goes to 100Hz and I love that).

I've brought in a number of samples from different instruments as well (I love the 4GB of user sample memory). While it excels in evolving pads and rhythmic wave sequences, it's readily capable for leads, traditional instrumentation, and even the oddball Virtual Analog sounds. It's deep, but reasonably quick to program and the sounds are fantastic. The flexibility in signal routing and control is among the best I've seen in a Sample-based Digital Synth.
